The Beast Wide Sweep Option Zipper Pass Play is one of my favorite Beast Formation pass plays, just behind the Beast Popeye Pop Pass or Popeye. If you have a mobile fast Beast Back or just insert your mobile QB that can sweep option then this play is deadly to a run aggressive defense with weak defensive backs that want to play run.

The outside BBB runs a pivot route where they fake a quick down block then pivot out, like the Patriot Gronkowski TE route and runs a shallow quick out toward numbers while the QB sweeps outside looking for the receiver.

The cool thing is you can have the receiver turn up field after or before the numbers to give the play a little extra and or release the TE on a seam too or fade to sideline. This play is deadly at the youth football level.

I’ve run this play with the Beast Back under center and in shotgun. Works great both ways. UC is a little more deceptive since the Defense thinks it probably a run play.

The key to the route is the fake block by the receiver. If the receiver just runs the quick out without faking the block the defense doesn’t bite and the play is not as effective.
