The Beast Spread Stretch Sweep or Jumbo Gumby is one of the Power Wing Beast Offense Playbook’s Base 8 plays that are the foundation of Coach Parker’s Beast Offense.

The Jumbo Stretch or Gumby play is a tight sweep play right at the strong side / playside tight end and first Beast blocking back. Usually I will have my Beast Back that is fast enough for sweeps but also a tough inside runner vs a pure speed juke type back run this play and they will read what I call the saddle gap between the TE and WB and not go wider than the second Beast blocking back. The Jumbo Stretch play is an inside Sweep run play vs a wide to the numbers & sideline So Long Sweep. Many times a natural seam will open up at Saddle / Stretch Sweep lane. This play works well with the Sweep Option Pass plays and the QB Draw / Wedge up the Gut.

It is a great Sweep play with Beast Backs that do not have top Speed to break outside defensive contain. The Beast Back will cut off the block of TE either underneath or just wide of him, whichever way the DE and or DT alignment and rush. Because of Trips the Defense will think pass or a wide Sweep play. This play is very similar to the Worm Stretch Sweep. Great call if the Defense is thinking pass.
